Golf Courses:
The Celtic Manor Resort is the realisation of every golfer's dream - 1400 acres of parkland offering novice or scratch players alike an opportunity to enjoy the very finest courses and experience the ultimate in facilities. From the friendly welcome to the drive home, Celtic Manor offers you the ultimate golfing experience. The resort will play host to the 2010 Ryder Cup and is also the venue for the Wales Open on the PGA European Tour for the next 10 years. The Celtic Manor Resort offers three courses to suit any golfers standard.
The Twenty Ten Course: The Twenty Ten course has been designed with The 2010 Ryder Cup and all the thrills and spills of team match play in mind, but it will also provide a fantastic stage for traditional tournament stroke play. With £16 million invested in creating the new course and clubhouse, The Twenty Ten promises to provide an awesome playing test for the tour professionals. Water hazards are significant features on no fewer than half of the holes and classic risk and reward dilemmas are thrown up at the 14th, 15th and 18th holes making for a compelling conclusion.
The Roman Road Course: A championship venue designed by the world famous Robert Trent Jones Snr. A challenging course with long open fairways on the front nine, to a back nine that twists and turns through trees and across lakes and streams. Named after the many Roman roads that criss-cross the course, and designed to avoiding any remains, the Roman Road course at Celtic Manor overlooks the Severn Estuary. Although the course has been a venue for top professional and amateur events, it is ideal for all levels of play. The course offers a variety of tees on each hole with generous fairways and greens.
The Montgomerie: The new Montgomerie course opened in July 2007. Designed by Ryder Cup legend, Colin Montgomerie, the new course measures 6,371 yards and has a par of 69. The front nine takes as its framework the starting and closing holes of the old Wentwood Hills championship course which were not part of the plans for the new course for The Ryder Cup. The back nine has been created from scratch on land that previously housed the 18-hole Coldra Woods academy course.

The Celtic Manor Resort is a world-class destination just 90 minutes from London Heathrow and 15 mins from Cardiff City Centre. Set in 1400 acres of parkland in the beautiful Usk Valley in Wales, it is one of the most complete resort in the UK and Europe, providing a luxurious hotel, convention centre, spa, golf and leisure facilities. There are two hotels at The Celtic Manor Resort. Guests can choose to stay in the luxurious five star Resort Hotel or our traditional 19th century Manor House. Each hotel has its own style and atmosphere, allowing you to choose your ideal surroundings for a relaxing break.
The Resort Hotel 5*: The Celtic Manor Resort's luxurious five star hotel opened in 1999. Each one of its 330 bedrooms are beautifully appointed and decorated, where distinctive design and traditional luxury create a calm and relaxing environment. The selection of luxury suites are individually decorated with picture windows and terraces. Even more indulgent and sumptuous are the two Presidential Suites, one with a baby grand piano. The Resort Hotel is home to The Olive Tree restaurant, Owens fine dining restaurant and Merlins Bar along with the The Forum Health Club and Spa, Forum Café, The Hideaway Club and the Celtic Arcade adjacent to reception, which features designer golf and leisurewear from the likes of Tommy Hilfiger and Greg Norman, ladies wear from the Really Wild Clothing Company and beautifully presented gifts and souvenirs. Guests at The Resort Hotel also enjoy complimentary telephone calls to national landlines, high speed internet access and complimentary use of The Forum Health Club leisure facilities.
The Manor House 4*: Long before the new Resort Hotel was built, the historic 19th century Manor House was recognised to be one of the finest hotels in the United Kingdom. Present owner Sir Terence Matthews acquired The Manor House in 1980, after it had been used for more than 30 years as a maternity hospital, The Lydia Beynon, where he himself was born. The character of this lovely property has been retained and it now provides a total of 70 traditionally styled bedrooms which have recently been refurbished, including three with four-poster beds. In addition, The Manor House is home to The Patio restaurant, the Cellar Bar, Residents’ Lounge, Manor Bar, Hedleys, and The Manor Suite, and is a popular venue for weddings with its romantic country house ambience. Guests at The Manor House also enjoy complimentary telephone calls to national landlines and complimentary dial up internet access, plus complimentary use of The Forum Health Club leisure facilities.
