There are three courses at Carnoustie Golf Links - The Championship, Burnside and Buddon. The Championship Course has hosted The Open six times and is often described as Scotland's ultimate golfing Challenge. The 1999 Open will always be remembered for Jean van de Velde's disastrous last hole where he let slip a three stoke lead to lose to local hero Paul Lawrie in the play-off. The course will once again host the world's greatest tournament in 2007. The Burnside is often overshadowed by it's illustrious neighbour but it oozes character and from the back tees is a splendid test of golf.

Many of the short holes would grace any links course anywhere with the 5th and 14th in particular providing dramatic challenges for the player who strives to gain his par 3. Buddon Links is a relatively new golf course having been opened in 1979. It was designed by Peter Allis and Davis Thomas although there have been significant changes since. As would be expected given its location, it is an excellent example of links golf. Although shorter than the Burnside it still packs a pretty hefty punch around the turn with the 7th, 9th, 11th & 12th holes all testing the players accuracy and control.

The Carnoustie Golf Hotel is situated on the sea front facing the 1st tee and the 18th green of the Championship Course, offering breathtaking views over the course to the sea. The four star deluxe hotel, made famous by a succession Open Championships offers guests the utmost in service, quality and comfort. The Dalhousie Restaurant serves an impressive menu of Scottish and Mediterranean dishes, created by a talented team of chefs.
