Golf du Touquet
La Mer is Golf du Touquet's crowning glory, and has frequently hosted prestigious professional tournaments, including the French Open on numerous occasions. Opened in 1931, the course is distinctly reminiscent of a Scottish links, thanks to designer Harry Colt, who is best known for his projects at Sunningdale, Wentworth and St. George's Hill. Measuring 6,862 yards, La Mer overlooks the wild dunes and the Channel coastline, and is without doubt one of France's most prestigious destinations.
La Foret is the oldest course at Golf du Touquet, having been inaugurated in 1904. In stark contrast to its rugged sister course, La Foret is carved through stunning pine woodland with some beautiful holes. At 6,365 yards, La Foret is not particularly long, but Horace Hutchinson's creation demands accuracy from the tee, especially in the summer when the fairways are hard and bouncy.
Golf du Touquet's third course is Le Manoir, and although it is only nine holes, it is no pitch and putt. The par-35 track demands every weapon in the arsenal, and is perfect not only for beginners, but also the more seasoned golfer.
