Despite its relative youth, Formby is a mature golfing test. With well placed water hazards combined with natural elevations, golfers are in for a treat. The par-72 layout measures just over 7,000 yards from the back tees and features a dramatic closing sequence including the par-3 16th hole with water awaiting any tee-shot short of the target. The par-5 18th hole features a stream which meanders across the fairway to ensure anyone laying up must do so with impeccable accuracy or face a possible scorecard wrecker. As a regular stop on the Europro and PGA satellite tour, the resort has a state of the art golf academy which has played host to none other than 18-time Major Champion Jack Nicklaus.
