Druids Glen was the Home of the Irish Open for 4 years from 1996 -'99. In 1996 & 1997, seven-time European No.1 Colin Montgomerie won the title. In 1998, he was denied a hat-trick of victories by David Carter in a dramatic playoff. In 1999 record Irish Open crowds witnessed teenager Sergio Garcia from Spain produce a final round 64 to capture his first professional victory.

Combining links, heathland and parkland golf, the course has already played host to some of the world's leading professional golfers. Described as Nature's Gift to Golf, the championship Druids Heath course is maintained to Tour Standards and features rolling fairways, natural rock quarries, lakes, trees, streams, gorse, gently undulating greens, traditional pot-bunkers and a testing sea breeze.
